RUNNING CAPACITORS
The capacitor is a passive electronic component with two terminals, designed for temporary storage of electrical charge through the energy of the electric field.
The capacitors are one of the main parts of the single-phase electric motors.
They ensure that the single-phase motor is started by defacing its field.
There are two common types of capacitors that work with electric motors. These are starting and running capacitors.
Depending on the wiring diagram, the capacitor electric motors can be divided into three types:
- Electric motors that operate with a starting capacitor and with a running capacitor.
- Electric motors that operate only with a running capacitor.
In the variant, an electric motor operating only with a running capacitor, the capacitor is permanently connected to the circuit.
In these circuits, the electric motors have good performance throughout the work process, but with poor starting characteristics.
